After two nights in Shimla we drove to Manali (altitude 6,726 ft.) It is so very different. The jaw dropping views are of the snow capped Himalayas. The people look and dress differently. It is truly mountain country.
Manali is the last place before the Rohtang Pass to Leh, Ladakh and on to Tibet/China. The pass is closed until May each year.
I saw a Yak for the first time, and also little "snow horses". There were huge eagles soaring overhead.
The people are a little shy, so out of respect I did not take many photos of them.
