I got back to the hotel about 9:30 a.m., had some breakfast, showered, and we were on our way to Orchha. It turned out to be an eight and a half hour drive because of some bad roads, detours, and traffic in the towns.
Along the way I saw a group of men walking single file carrying something on their shoulders.
Later we saw another group the same.
I told Lakhu that if we saw another group to please slow down for photos. Luck was with us.
These men were bringing back pots of Holy Water, probably from Haridwar/Rishikesh area. Lakhu said that the source of the Ganges (Ganga) is there in the foothills of the Himalaya Mountains. The men/pilgrims walk all the way there and back, someimes up to 400 kms to bring the Holy Water to their village. The pots are never allowed to touch the ground, so the men trade off shouldering them. Also when they stop one group takes a nap while the other shoulders the pots.
All in all, we saw six such groups.
