We left Delhi and immediately it grew cloudy and the drizzle started, then the rain. It was cold and nasty. Because we were heading north it just got colder and colder, however, it was not really an issue because it was just a driving day.
We were headed to Shimla, the Queen of Hill Stations. It is about 6800ft above sea level. Well, let me tell you it was difficult for me. We left the hotel to go to "the mall", and that meant climbing. I knew that, but after climbing stairs for about 1 km, I gave up. I was disappointed not to have reached the top, but delighted in what I did accomplish. The views approaching Shimla, from my walk/climb, and from my hotel room were spectacular.
I quickly got used to monkeys walking/jumping right along with me on my walk/climb.
